These pictures are from our store Minnie Janes that we had to close in Feb. 2012 because of illness. My husband came down with Pancrititis from a gall stone. He was basically in ICU for 3 months and Rehab for 4 months. We got home in March of this year. The Portland Oregon Veterans hospital saved his life. The government really does a great job taking care of veterans. He is doing well but has some hurdles to get through yet..So this blog came to a hault fast. So we are now trying to get our lives back.I really havent painted much since then Tom shoes for my niece.I painted a rose on each shoe. She loved them. Until the next time..Sally

Memorial Day
This is a picture of my two Uncles in World War 11. Arent they so handsome? Roger Boon Gilmore and Russell Martin Gilmore. The uncle pictured on the right lost his life on the Destroyer USS Maddox which sunk off the coast of Sicily Italy in the invasion of Sicily. I never of course knew him and was told he was a very gentle nice man. Anyway today I honor him and actually everyday of my life I honor him and think of him often. Think of what it would be like to have grown up with him. I would have had more cousins to play with and grow old together. So today all we have is a monument to place a little rose by his name. His tomb is is in the USS Maddox in the Meditteranian Sea. Sally

Thanksgiving turkeys and Veterans day with Hattie!
Just thought I would share a picture of my fathers turkeys probably taken back in the 60's. I was raised on a turkey farm..I wouldnt trade the experience for the world, even though growing up I really didnt want to help out on the farm.
Now the other pictures are of my husband,Me and our granddaughter Hattie. As you can see Hatties grandfather is on the Honor Guard with the American Legion. He shot the guns for the Veterans Day Program. So Hattie got to go with us. Anyway hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. Sally

Its moving day!
Here I am saying sorry for not being around for awhile again, but I guess I just like to look at others blogs instead of posting on mine. But I have been moving out of Rusty Pelican and anticipating the new store that will be open Sept 10th in Benton City Washington. It is going to be a fabulous place to shop for unusual finds and repurposed surprises. There will be an outside flea market starting oct 9th. You can find me there at the flea market and I have wonderful new finds to show. So these pictures are of my space and plus a shot of inside the Rusty Pelican..what it will look like in their new store. So soon I will post pictures of the gas station in Benton City. Sally
